Having a house full of guests is wearing, even when hospitality is my main job and one I enjoy doing. All of them are wonderful young people (preparing for short-term trips overseas), and one is even a coworker from Pakistan, just back from the field for a year. But it is still wearing to have people under foot after a long day at the office. I'm glad we have three bathrooms in the house!! The hardest part is there is no way to really keep to a proper schedule when there are 11 people in the house all doing different things, and that makes for disruptions in the routine, and that is also wearing.

This situation will end on Sunday, and then we'll be quiet for a bit; but we'll have a full house at intervals over the next two months, along with smaller groups and individuals coming and going.

Today I am driving to the Philly airport to put one of the guests on a plane -- a 3 hour round trip, if the traffic isn't too bad. I'll be driving the mission minivan, which is nice, but I'm not quite used to it. Then tomorrow I get to do the same in the early morning, to a different airport that is closer. Hope the rain stops for a change! It's been a yucky wet muggy week this week.

Can't have a nap -- since I am supposed to be working -- so I guess I'll have a cup of coffee instead.

! That sounds kind of tough. 11 people at once! I can imagine how tough it would be for me to have that many people at once in my house. *phew*...

Your description of the situation makes me think of the Boromir/you conversation you once wrote, wherein you were a busy lady at Barliman's, I believe?... can't quite remember now. At any rate, you had a housefull of people and Boromir was trying to get a hold of you. Too bad Sean Bean isn't one of the guests, LOL!

I wish I could package up some of the sun and wind we have here and send it over. I hope the weather improves soon, at any rate!

Keep up your spirits, (((Lin)))!

Its rough to have people around all the time, I know - even if they're nice, and even if they're kind, its still an interruption and a glitch in the routine. Get some rest, Lin, and I'm thinking of you - gonna send you a long email soon - after I figure out what to do about FOTRead.

Thanks, dear! I run a guest house, but I'm always glad when there aren't any guests!

My suggestion on FOTRead is to let it continue as it has been, but don't feel you have to moderate in particular. I was willing to shut down for the summer, but I don't mind if it goes on, either. I might try to keep up, and I might not; either way, I will try to contribute when the mood takes me. But I think we can go along in a slow and easy fashion that doesn't require moderating. That should take some pressure off you.

Does that sound do-able?
