Though I've been out and about in other people's journals to some extent this weekend, I haven't been updating my own, so I guess I'll do that.

First of all, thanks for helping me through my snit on Friday (which wasn't a very good one to begin with, hee!). It was just one of those days, you know?

Okay, updating...

Much of Saturday was taken up in going to the funeral of DH's cousin (whom I also knew pretty well). If there ever was a joyful funeral, that was it! Of course we all were sad and wept because such a dear one was taken away suddenly, but it was also a happy occasion of celebrating the special, godly person she was and the fact that she is celebrating herself right now! She had been working as the head of food services in a local school, and some of the kids from the school put together a written testament of their love for her -- one of the young ones said, "We love Deb because she was nice and a good leader. She will have fun being a leader in heaven." Exactly!

After the funeral was the traditional luncheon, and we got caught up with all of DH's relatives -- a lovely time, because they are a lovely family. We didn't do much else the rest of the day, just did as we pleased instead of working. ;-)

Sunday we attended church services at one of two churches we are hovering between -- can't quite decide which we will attend regularly! They were having a potluck (which we didn't know about), so I didn't have to make lunch and we got a chance to talk to people over lunch, which is always a good way to get to know new folk.

Afterwards, we drove to the city where my family lives, for a wee visit -- and for me to do laundry in my mom's nice washing machine. ;-) I took my aunt out for lunch on Monday, for her birthday, and that was great fun. We hadn't had a decent conversation for awhile, just the two of us, so we enjoyed ourselves. Then it was back home Monday night.

Now it is Tuesday and I really must get down to doing some work that will delete some things from my List of Doom.

Church can become such a focal point of your life and provides a number of the people you regularly interact with, so making the decision on which one to attend when you move to a new place can be tough. For awhile I was straddling two denomenations (One Catholic and one Protestant). I was getting a lot from different aspects of both but wasn't ready to let go of any of the benefits of either. So I went to two services a week for months, lol. I called it "double-dipping." When people from the morning mass would ask me to go out to brunch after or something though, it was weird to say, "No sorry, I have to get to church!"

Sounds like it was time well spent - and may you have the Guidance you need to be able to choose the right church family soon, so you can settle in and get to know them more deeply.

Always happy to help with the snits, you know (though I still say you're lousy at it). What would shock me would be logging on one day and seeing SHIREBOUND complain about something. :-D

Answering this post late, but hope you got some things crossed off the list of doom.

(((((hugs))))))))
