I'm home after my short visit to my parent's house. I had a nice time, but it's always good to be back in my own place with my own little family, and be told "we didn't eat a proper meal while you were gone." ;-)

It was once again a nice day for a drive, so on the way home I decided to have an adventure. It's true what those hobbits say about the road sweeping you off your feet! On a whim, I decided to go home by another route (the "long way 'round" so to speak), and took a little excursion to the capital city, simply because the road was there and I was on it and I could drive 70 mph! I wanted to see how long it would take (and if I could still get home at the time my boys were expecting me). Then, since I was in the neighborhood, I stopped in at a used bookstore, got Starbucks coffee at Barnes and Noble, did the MacDonald's thing, and still made it home by noon. Hee! It's nice to do something unexpected now and then. ;-)

Now it's back to normal, I guess. At least for awhile. My DH is thinking out loud about the purchase of camping equipment, so that bodes well for the future...

Ahh, the road goes ever on! And it looks like it may go on to somewhere in nature where you can camp! Wonderful! (((Lin)))

Sometimes its good just to drive...and if you can fast, so much the better! SOunds like you had a little "Me" time, which is always a good thing - I'm finding myself missing it this week since Brynn is home on vacation, and makes me wonder how the summer will fare for us. I'm thinking a couple of days at a camp or something, just for both of our sanities. =D

I like camping...but my inlaws spoiled me with their 20 foot or whatever long camping trailer with the wall that moves out and the awning, and their camp chairs and the indoor bathroom, and...well, you get the picture. That said, I wouldn't mind tenting-airmatressing it for a few days this summer; we've been thinking about doing that too.

One never knows where the road might lead! How good to do something a little different.

I used to like camping... real roughing it. Like with canoes and stringing backpacks out of reach of the bears. But alas, nowadays, even four star hotels are too much roughing it for me. I am an old hobbit who likes her own bed. :>)

I love things like that. Glad you had a lovely day!

Good for you, taking the scenic route! I'll bet that little break felt great, didn't it? It sounds lovely to do something spontaneous, and more importantly, for yourself.

And three cheers for camping! Once I move out west, my stepdad wants to take me camping, and as I've never been camping I'm very much looking forward to that.
(((hugs))))
