I was really hoping to get some quiet time this afternoon and evening to test the writing waters, and see if my writer's block is still in place -- but my Dear Hubby wants to set up our new tent.

In the living room.

So we can lay in it while we watch tv.

This kind of unexpectedness in my daily life is why I have writer's block, I suspect.

Actually, I'm kind of keen to see the new tent -- we just got it today, on sale. I can't believe it really will fit 4 people, it folds up into such a tiny little carrying bag!

My hubby gets keen on things, and then there's no holding him back. While I was at my parent's house, I raided their garage and came home with a sleeping bag, a foam pad, a wee sterno stove and some cast iron pans for cooking. That's enough to start planning our trip, according to Mr. Lin. Next thing to be done to get ready is changing the registration on our car from PA to WI so we can buy a Wisconsin Park sticker at the cheaper rate!

What fun! I discovered that it's helpful to take your own bed pillows with you camping, so you sleep as comfortably as possible. And don't forget binoculars (or a small telescope) for star gazing!

:D

And the bird book for bird-watching!

The closer we get to the big 5-Oh, the more kidlike my big kid gets. :-D

hehe! So cute! That sort of unexpectedness in your life may keep your muse on the back burner, but it keeps your marriage nice and toasty on a camp stove. Have fun watching TV in your tent!

I assume because you've got cast iron you're not going hiking!

*Gasp* I hope Sam's pots weren't cast iron. I never thought of that.

I've recently fallen in love with cooking with that stuff. Whoever invented any other kind of pan is an idiot.

No, I suspect that is why you two haven't forgotten what it was like to be a kid.
((((((hugs for you both)))))))))))

That's pretty funny, ((((Lin)))). I can't help picturing a living room with a tent in it, lol.

It's a small tent, but it takes up the whole room, lol! It's staying up quite well, even not being staked down, so I guess it was a good purchase. ;-)

What fun! Simple pleasures -- precious memories -- priceless blessings.

Hugs, S'mores Brownies, and blessings,
Mum

Or it could be precisely what helps to bring you out of it! LOL, what fun.
