I want to share with you all about the wee camping trip we took recently, but I think it would be more interesting if I shared one or two of the pictures I took while we were out. I'll try to get to that today yet, but there's just something about getting digital pictures out of a camera that really slows a person down...

In the meantime, here's a taste of one of the more significant parts of the venture:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Pun intended!

My son just got called on an application he turned in a month ago at Kmart! He wasn't available to take the call, so he has to call back, then we'll see what it's about. I hope it turns into something, even if it isn't the job he wants in the long run. Right now, he just needs something, no matter how menial, to get into the swing of being part of the working world.

Update: My DS has an interview on Monday afternoon, which will give him time to straighten up his resume and read his "notes" on how to be interviewed. He's never had a real interview before, so this will be interesting. Sounds like the woman in charge at Kmart is the cheerful, sweet sort who is easy to talk to, so that should help.

eep! That is the one problem with nature - all the biters and stingers!

Praying for the best outcomes for your son's working situation.

He's got an interview on Monday, yay -- but also eep! Thanks for the prayers, this is a scary thing for him, facing the new and unexpected.

LUCK!!! I am hopeful for your DS. He really has spead his wings this last year. I remember 5 years ago when you spoke of him, shy and all, and now he is out and about. Happy Daze.

Thanks! He seems to be taking big strides now; I guess everyone has their own internal timing for when they will "grow up" and he's starting to get there now. It's encouraging to watch -- and teaches me a lesson in how patience is good, no matter how long it takes. :-D

I feel for him because of the changes in his short life. It is hard to adjust to a whole new reality as he had to do. I admire the chap.

Way OT

Although, for you is Sean Bean ever really "off topic"? Anyway, I've been wanting to say that we are REALLY enjoying the Sharpe movies. We're taping them every week. Tomorrow we meet that horrid sergeant (whose name I've forgotten) - yuck! But Meg said to me the other day that she'd never been a big Sean fan, not really, until she started watching Sharpe. I suppose because he's younger and quite gallant in these.

You are right. SB is never off topic, hee!

I actually like some of the later Sharpe episodes better, because he starts to look more like Boromir in them, lol! More well fed, less skinny. He's gallant and heroic throughout, though. Sergeant Hakeswill -- booooo! He's horrid, for sure -- but the actor who does his character plays him perfectly!

I'm going to start reading the books again, and I need to watch all the episodes, too. That's one thing we all enjoy watching as a family -- we are all Sean Bean fans, no matter how much they tease me about him. ;-)

I know how Elijah felt now.

*snort* isn't that a picture of the state bird of Wisconsin? ;-)

Will keep DS in mind on Monday- job interviews can be scary, as I can testify having been on one recently after 12 years. He'll do great though.
