I made my DS call Kmart this morning to ask about the job he interviewed for on Monday. He phrased his question thus: "I was wondering when I would hear whether I got the job?" or something like that. The answer was that he would be getting a letter about it today or tomorrow, said in a cheerful, positive tone. He interprets that to mean he got the job and the letter will confirm it. I'd like to think so, as well!
Now comes the hard part -- waiting for the letter and keeping up my faith that it will say Yes, come work for us!
I have to admit, we are all new at this kind of thing, and so we don't know how to interpret things so clearly. We've lived out of the country for almost 20 years, and we don't know how employers handle hiring -- or not hiring -- and letting the prospective employee know about it. Maybe there isn't a standard procedure for rejecting or accepting an applicant, in which case we are in the same boat as everyone else. ;-)
*prays that the letter will come today so we will know for sure*
Now I'll just go reread yesterday's post to remind myself that God will be handling ALL of my problems for me today, as well as my DS's problems, and that He does NOT need me to help by worrying about it. :-D
Today calls for a peaceful icon, methinks.

Date: 2006-06-15 05:51 pm (UTC)From:K-Mart very well could inform people they are being offered a position by mail. In my experience large retailers have a one-three full day training session and they often send a packet along about that.
Praying that is the case if this is the correct opportunity for Nathan!
