Well, here I am, checking in for a minute while the phone line is free.  Besides being a busy bee, it isn't often I can get access to the single phone line to get online.  But it's free for a minute so I'll grab my chance!

I don't have much to report that doesn't have to do with cooking.  We got here on Friday afternoon, and I've been going ever since.  My week in a nutshell is as follows:  the cooking is going well, I am not getting enough rest, my feet are hanging in there, and it is hot and humid.

I made my Pakistani Chicken Biriyani today, and it was very well received.  I also had good reviews on my lasagna -- I hope I can remember how I made it, so I can try to repeat it!  One of my problems is, I tend not to follow a recipe exactly, I just look at the suggested ingredients, and then improvise, going by how it looks or what is available and fitting to put in a dish!  Makes it tricky when people ask for the recipe...

Tomorrow DH and I are heading into New York City to see some sights in Manhattan.  We plan to visit two museums and maybe Ground Zero, and eat in a fancy restaurant.  Maybe we'll just have a pretzel and hotdogs in Central Park and eat dessert in a fancy restaurant...

We lived in NYC for a short time back in 1985, so it will be interesting to go back again and ride the subway and such.  I'll try to take lots of pictures and do a report at some point!  Not sure when I'll get back online, but hopefully soon -- I miss you all tons!

Miss you too!

Sounds like you're doing well with the cooking! Glad to hear it. :) But ugh for the heat and the feet... that's not so good. :-/ I'll be keeping you in my prayers, for relief for your feet and strength to handle the weather -- or a reversal of said weather!

Have a delightful time in NYC! Looking forward to possible pics when you come back!

Oooooh. I bet I would love your Pakistani chicken, ((((Lin)))). I hope to have the Fouquet Sisters over for an "Arabian" meal of the Moroccan Scallops, apricot and mint couscous, watermelon ice, and jasmine green iced tea. I haven't heard back about when they can come over yet but I hope it will happen.

Have a wonderful time in NY. It sounds like great fun. Bro loves NY but I have never been.
