linaewen: (Wisconsin Autumn)
Autumn is in the air today, and we are thinking that perhaps we can put those 80 degree temperatures behind us.  My DS, who hates the heat, is powerful cheerful this morning -- his mood and energy level rises in direct proportion to how cool it is!  Fall is my favorite time of year, particularly after living in Pakistan so long, where there were basically two seasons, hot and less hot -- and the trees never stopped being green.

Anyway, here's what's happening in my neck of the woods:
  • my itching is improving, in that the rash seems to be gone and there are only a few places on my arms and legs that remain red and troublesome.  The irritating thing is they are the spots that have the most nerve endings in them, so I am still having to sit on my hands, so to speak, to not scratch.  But I think I've turned the corner!
  • I haven't gotten hardly anything done that I wanted to do this week, due to this miserable itching.  We'll see how today holds up as a day to get something accomplished.
  • since my DS and I joined Weight Watcher's, it's been nothing but points this and points that, and doing math to see if we can squeeze in just one more morsel of something.  :-D  But that's good, we are certainly becoming more aware of how much we put in our mouths without thinking.  Hopefully it will become more routine after awhile.  We have our first weigh in on Thursday morning, so I'll let you all know how we did.
  • The lease on our apartment is up at the end of October, and we are considering moving, rather than staying on another year.  Although it's a  nice apartment, we really don't have enough room -- we get on each other's nerves far too often, for one thing.  We realize now we should have gotten a larger place in the first place, so we are looking into what's available to see if we want to move in the next two months, or wait and move later.  Moving is a big hassle!  Our landlady will let us have a 5 month lease if we want, bless her -- but if we want a place with more room, why not go ahead and just go get one and move into it now, moving hassle or no?  We have to make a firm decision by Friday.
  • Today's plan includes necessary stuff like laundry and grocery shopping, writing reports and a newsletter, and fun stuff like going for a walk in the coolness, and getting back into some long overdue writing.
  • I think my DH and I need another "no computer" day tomorrow, so if you don't see me, that's why!
Guess that will do for now, if I go on longer, it won't be Chota Mota, it will be Bara Mota (Big Fat)!!

I hope the itching eases soon!

I think I'm beginning to see the end of it, thankfully!

*sighs in relief*

Wow, you got alot on your plate right now (no WW pun intended there!).

Glad the itching is going down, and the weather out here is gorgeous too! Raining, but cooler.

Good luck with getting everything done this week.
Love you!

*looks mournfully at full plate that doesn't include food*

I'm doing much better today with the itching, yay! Thanks for the well wishes, my love!

Yay for Autumn! It will be a little while before it starts down here, but it is my most anticipated season!

I hope that the counting becomes sort of automatic. Involving math that intimately with my life, particularly my eating does not sound all that appealing. The results, however, would appeal very much!

It seems as though you just moved and hadn't moved very long before that! But I suppose if you need more space you would be happier in a larger place despite the effort involved. Good luck with that decision!

And good luck with the list, both necessary and fun! ((((Lin))))

It has been a lot of moving, and normally we would want to avoid it -- but we just can't see another year of living on top of one another. There are other advantages to being in housing other than an apartment building, too.

I did the laundry and the grocery shopping, now for the fun stuff. ;-)

Is it autumn already?? *blink* Goodness, that came fast. But yes, it's the end of August, so it must be! ;-)

Glad to hear the itching is going down! What a relief it will be to get completely rid of it. Good that the weather is cooler, too. I can relate -- hot and/or humid weather always slows me down, too!

Yes, the itching is much better; today I have hope that it is almost gone and not coming back.

It may be getting cooler, but there's still lots of great weather ahead for camping!

The heat seems to have let us go here in Flatland, too, though I know that can change in a heartbeat.

I know! We'll have hot again before long, I'm sure -- but it's nice to be able to say for a change, turn off the fan, I'm cold!

You want to MOVE again?

Don't WANT to move, but I really would love to have more room, and now's the time. 'Course, then we'll be hopefully moving again in another year, south to Chicago. Ah, well, we used to move twice a year in Pakistan, to get out of the heat for the summer. Guess I am a bit of a gypsy, hee!

Have you considered moving into a house or is that not possible?

The points are a blessing and a curse. When I was doing WW I found myself trying to horde points. *rolls eyes* I was a dolt.

Good luck on your no computer day tomorrow! may it go well.

We actually have thought of a house, though I think we will look at duplexes or townhouses as well. Then we don't have to invest in stuff like a lawn mower. ;-)

I started out staying under my points, but I've dipped in to the extras big time the last day or two!

But that's good, we are certainly becoming more aware of how much we put in our mouths without thinking.

It's amazing how much more aware you become of what you are eating isn't it? When I think back about the amount of food I used to consume it amazes me. And I always thought "I don't eat that much!" LOL

Good luck in the moving decision. That's always a difficult choice to make.
