Heads up on another LJ change

In case you didn't know about this, here's something pretty important that was posted today in LJ News -- they are going to change the look of the Viewing Options, yadda yadda, and it sounds like they'll change it by default, unless you specifically choose for them not to:

I've had a look, and frankly, I don't like the new way.  It's totally boring!  But I'll have another look just to be sure.  I do think I want to stick with what I currently use, which I guess they call the "Dystopia" scheme -- this, even at the risk of not knowing right away about all the new dodads they will continue to keep adding.  The thing is, if I don't want them to automatically switch me to the new thing, I have to do something between now and midmonth to keep using what I currently have.  Read the news, it's all in there.

Did it seem to you that the new menus and things on the new form took up the whole screen, and then some?

I don't have a problem with it actually. I was worried when I read your post that I was going to have to figure out my journals design all over again. LOL, it was hard enough the first time! But it's just the navigation stuff.

I actually like the drop down menus because I was always forgetting where to find what and this is easier for me. What I wouldn't have appreciated was if it intruded on my journal itself and it doesn't. I spend most of my time on my journal's friends page and it looks the same as ever. I think this change will help me find what I need when I want to make changes, though it will be an adjustment I'm sure.

At least they are offering journalers an option to keep the other way if they want to. I don't like things being foisted on me, lol.
