In case you didn't know about this, here's something pretty important that was posted today in LJ News -- they are going to change the look of the Viewing Options, yadda yadda, and it sounds like they'll change it by default, unless you specifically choose for them not to:

I've had a look, and frankly, I don't like the new way. It's totally boring! But I'll have another look just to be sure. I do think I want to stick with what I currently use, which I guess they call the "Dystopia" scheme -- this, even at the risk of not knowing right away about all the new dodads they will continue to keep adding. The thing is, if I don't want them to automatically switch me to the new thing, I have to do something between now and midmonth to keep using what I currently have. Read the news, it's all in there.

Date: 2006-09-01 11:26 pm (UTC)From:I actually like the drop down menus because I was always forgetting where to find what and this is easier for me. What I wouldn't have appreciated was if it intruded on my journal itself and it doesn't. I spend most of my time on my journal's friends page and it looks the same as ever. I think this change will help me find what I need when I want to make changes, though it will be an adjustment I'm sure.
At least they are offering journalers an option to keep the other way if they want to. I don't like things being foisted on me, lol.
