Running with perseverence, fighting the good fight

I love it when what I am reading fits in with what I am thinking, unexpectedly -- though it makes sense that the things I am working through in my mind and heart should also be brought to my attention in other ways!  Among other things I read this morning in my Bible reading, I came upon the following verse, which fits right in with some things I've been trying to settle in my own life of late:

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.  [Hebrews 12:1]

Between this encouraging nudge and an excellent "just do it" post by boriel yesterday, I'm off to the races!  I shall set aside the laziness and distractedness that is currently slowing me down, as well as the less important projects I have on my list that I tend to do because they are more "fun," and I shall apply myself to those things that are the most important to be done today, with the goal of actually completing some things.  That will be nice!

And since it is good and profitable to be accountable to others, I shall return later in the day to let you all know how it went.  ;-)
