Thanks to all who replied to my post about my Amazing Adventure this weekend. In case you didn't know or had forgotten, I and some others on my Flist had dedicated this past weekend to writing convincing but otherwise imaginary adventures, to put a bit of pep into our lives. ;-)

But was my adventure entirely imaginary?

The story was all TRUE, except for the part about the bullet hole in the sheet, and the part about me being outside when I heard the shooting begin.  I was, in fact, in the house about to take my laundry out to hang up, when I heard the shooting begin.  I did think it was a wedding at first (yes, they really do shoot guns off at weddings), but quickly realized that wasn't likely.  So I wisely stayed inside.

The escaped prisoners were actually dangerous terrorists, and the police were quite desperate to catch them.  Sadly, the shootout resulted in the death of one of the policemen -- in the street near our house -- and several of the terrorists.  Thankfully, the rest of them were caught and returned to jail.

Nice to have terrorists having shootouts outside your house when the hubby is off with the armed police guard!  Just as well -- I'm sure there would have been worse things happening on our doorstep if our armed guard had gotten involved!

In other news, we are in the home stretch for buying our house!!!  The sellers have agreed to all our terms, so all we have to do now is get the loan finalized, and get the closing date moved up.  My hubby will be in there ripping up the bathroom and sanding the hardwood floors before we know it!  :-D

I'm getting good things done today, and I am feeling quite pleased with myself about it.  Thought you all ought to know that.  ;-)

I'm so excited about your house too! *jumps up and down clapping* Everything is falling into place as it should be! You are going to have so much fun putting everything in just the right place!

I know!! :-D It's so exciting! Doug has all kinds of brochures about fixtures and tile and nifty-looking vanities, and we're having fun choosing things. And that's just for the bathroom!

Lin-Diana Jones. ;)

Yayyy for house progress. Things seem to be humming along beautifully!

Can you paint the door purple?

:-D

Probably not purple -- Hubby is opposed to purple for some reason -- but maybe burgundy or a maroony red! I mentioned green, but he said "we are not hobbits!" ;-)

Well red is Feng Shui for a prosperous home so that can't be bad!

I apparently missed the post about this past weekends writings. :oP But still...it was an interesting story nevertheless.

Somehow, I don't think you really need a souvenir to remember such a near-disaster an adventure.

Hurray for your house!

Hurray for your accomplishments!

Hurray for Lin 4 Gondor,
The Pakistan explorer.
"Did someone call me Floorer?!"
Huray, hurray, hurray!

Well, you certainly had me convinced! It reminded me of when I was in Valencia, Spain, for my junior year of college. I lived with a Spanish family and we were on the 8th floor of an apartment building. One night someone bombed the shop that was on the ground floor. We felt it up where we were, but didn't know what had happened until the next morning. Don't know why the bomb - student activists of some sort I think. They bombed the University once too, and we were out of classes for 3 days.

Congrats on the house!!! Major excitement for you! I love moving into a new house!
