Thanks to all who replied to my post about my Amazing Adventure this weekend. In case you didn't know or had forgotten, I and some others on my Flist had dedicated this past weekend to writing convincing but otherwise imaginary adventures, to put a bit of pep into our lives. ;-)
But was my adventure entirely imaginary?
In other news, we are in the home stretch for buying our house!!! The sellers have agreed to all our terms, so all we have to do now is get the loan finalized, and get the closing date moved up. My hubby will be in there ripping up the bathroom and sanding the hardwood floors before we know it! :-D
I'm getting good things done today, and I am feeling quite pleased with myself about it. Thought you all ought to know that. ;-)

The story was all TRUE, except for the part about the bullet hole in the sheet, and the part about me being outside when I heard the shooting begin. I was, in fact, in the house about to take my laundry out to hang up, when I heard the shooting begin. I did think it was a wedding at first (yes, they really do shoot guns off at weddings), but quickly realized that wasn't likely. So I wisely stayed inside.
The escaped prisoners were actually dangerous terrorists, and the police were quite desperate to catch them. Sadly, the shootout resulted in the death of one of the policemen -- in the street near our house -- and several of the terrorists. Thankfully, the rest of them were caught and returned to jail.
Nice to have terrorists having shootouts outside your house when the hubby is off with the armed police guard! Just as well -- I'm sure there would have been worse things happening on our doorstep if our armed guard had gotten involved!
