It was a glorious weekend, to say the least! Journeying to Middle-earth and the surrounding environs with some very, very special people -- who could ask for better?

Unfortunately, I am following up that great experience with a day home sick! It's probably just a bad cold and I'll be in good enough shape tomorrow to return to work, but for today, I'm taking it easy! I've not much choice in the matter, actually.

After a wee nap, I am going to try to write up my experience before it begins to grow dim in my mind. One wishes for the memory of Elves at such a time!

More later!

I haven't seen anything new on the proposed Sharpe film on the site I usually frequent, but found this announcement dated August 7th at the Sharpe Appreciation Society's site:

"SHARPE SHOOTING - AGAIN?"
There has been quite a lot of press lately regarding the return of Sharpe to British TV screens. Whilst it is looking increasingly likely that our swashbuckling hero, Richard Sharpe will return to ITV, the producers, author Bernard Cornwell and the ITV Drama department are still holding preliminary talks to iron out some details.

What does look fairly certain at the moment is that Sean Bean will return to his role as Richard Sharpe and there will probably be two new films based on the Indian novels by Bernard Cornwell.

As and when I get further confirmation of what is happening, I will update our website or the society newsletter accordingly. For now, lets just celebrate the fact that after 8 years, we may be getting some more "Sharpe"! [Chris Clarke]

I'll be keeping my eyes open for just such an update! ;-)
