linaewen: (Boromir Happy)
It is a crisp day here today, but I enjoy that. I like seeing my breath in the air! I shall have to try to make time for a walk this afternoon, if I can manage it.

I had a lovely day yesterday in Baltimore -- it was a treat for my department from our supervisor for a job well done in getting a big project done on time. We ate at two different restaurants on the waterfront, and the food at both was excellent. The afternoon was spent shopping in the lovely mall where the restaurants were located. I bought a few things, but mostly just window-shopped, which was fun.

My main goal today is to finish writing an article before I can be waylaid by any other "urgent" projects. Hopefully I will be able to manage it all, in spite of the fact that I am feeling a tiny bit yuck right now, due to my glasses. I have had to put on an old pair, because my proper pair are about to break at the nose piece, and they were making me sick from bending too much! These I have on now may be an older prescription, because I've only had them on for a bit and I already am feeling a headache coming on, and my stomach begin to turn.

[livejournal.com profile] boriel's recent post about what scene goes with themes from the soundtrack, reminded me of a recent discovery.

After hearing discussion on the director's commentary about the meaning of the Elvish words that are sung during Boromir's last stand, I have been on the lookout for further translation of that, with lyrics if I could find them. Well, I found them at last -- and much, much more -- at the following link:

Choose your soundtrack and prepare to be moved by what you read!

In the Amon Hen sequence especially, not only is the music moving, but the words that are actually being sung are enough to bring me to tears! And then there are the words to a song called The Last Son, featured in ROTK's The Steward of Gondor track -- **sniffle**

I shall have to get my headphones out and see if I can hear these words being sung!
