Is it Monday yet?
Jul. 3rd, 2005 10:39 pmI guess it's not quite Monday, but seeing as how I will be gone most of Monday, I thought I'd say a word early -- just a bit of chota mota to start off the week.
No day off for me tomorrow; Monday will be a long day of meetings (interesting ones, though) to be followed by an evening spent at a baseball game (the Reading Phillies) that will end in stupendous fireworks. I assume they will be stupendous, considering they have really good ones on a normal game day, but Monday being July 4, they will likely be special.
Though it's almost Monday, I will list no goals for the time being -- in spite of the fact that making measurable goals is something weighing heavily on my mind these days. I need to make some -- personal ones, work-related ones, family ones and ministry ones. But this week is not the week to begin, as any goals I set are likely to remain unaccomplished, due to this being a highly "flexible" week. I shall instead do one day at a time, and thereby remain encouraged.
As for my health, I believe I am well now, though I still have a few days left of my medication; looks like I won't have to go in for more, thankfully. I do need more sleep than I have been getting, though -- or else I need to sleep better when I do sleep! Guess I'll have to try to stop thinking so much. ;-)
I got an email from a friend today who suggested affectionately that I am a workaholic. I realized that she is probably right, at least partially so! Think I'll have to take a vacation soon to break myself of that habit, hehe!
Here's a bit of a plug for my favorite baddie, who has a film coming out this month -- The Island, starring Sean Bean -- oh, and some other guy by the name of Ewan McGregor... ;-) I got to see the trailer for The Island twice this weekend; only one wee glimpse of Sean Bean, and a snatch of his voice, but he looked very, very good and sounded appropriately chilling. Here's what Premiere magazine has to say about him in the upcoming film:
"Sean Bean pitches in with one of his best villain roles since 'Patriot Games' as Merrick, the doctor who runs the cloning facility -- a mature, sympathetic, if ever so slightly mad figure. 'He's a visionary,' says Bay [the director], 'and sometimes visionaries have to do unscrupulous things.'"
And here's a picture: Sean Bean in The Island
I don't mind Mr. Bean being the "bad guy" when he does that kind of a bad guy. ;-) Opening July 22!
Anyway, enough of that. Though you may not see me here until late on Monday, rest assured you will all in my thoughts throughout the day. Stop in and say hello if you get a chance.
