Friday's Chota Mota
Aug. 5th, 2005 10:04 amIt's nice to be in the cool air of the office when it's so hot outside. Wish it were this cool in my house, it would be a whole lot easier to get all the housework done I need to get done before I leave on vacation next week. There is a ton of stuff to do, but when I start doing it, I just get lethargic from the heat. We have AC's, but they are window units and we can't cool the whole house down -- and my work involves running in and out, up and down. It's pretty hot in some of those rooms, especially on third floor! Oh, well. It'll get done. Maybe first thing in the morning before it gets too hot; a couple days of that ought to do the trick.
I have lots of packing to do for our trip. We are going on the Greyhound bus all the way to Wisconsin, eeeee! Then we will pick up a newish car my inlaws are giving us, so we will ride in style after that. Hopefully we can get it registered and insured before we head back.
We'll be gone out to Wisconsin about two weeks. Plans include my 30th class reunion, speaking at a couple of churches, camping at Wyalusing State Park, and visiting various relatives. Should be good! Our boy is staying behind, because his idea of a vacation is NOT camping. ;-) He'll man the fort while we are gone, and deal with a bunch of guests who are passing through shortly after we leave.
My son is making really good progress in driving. Hubby's been taking him out some lately, and he is encouraged. My boy still struggles with some ADD type issues as he tries to sort out all the stuff he had to look at when driving, but it's not as bad as we feared it would be.
Here's a little thing I did not too long ago -- it's a picture from the stills on The Two Towers Extended DVD, which originally had Peter Jackson in it, but I cut him out and moved Denethor over. ;-) I think I have Denethor looking shorter than he actually is, but no matter. It's kinda fun to see this little family standing together, looking happy.
