Well, the news on the new Sharpe film has been pretty sparse -- hardly a picture of Sean to make it worth our while as we wait! But a few tidbits are beginning to surface, so here you go:

Go here http://www.veterans-fencing.co.uk for an article written by the swordmaster on Sharpe's Challenge. Once you are the site, click Word or PDF under the January newsletter and enjoy! Thanks to the folks at TheCompleatSeanBean for finding this!

Go here for more info on the film and some lovely location shots (which make me feel quite homesick for Pakistan, hee!):

It's going to be a long wait, I'm afraid, but just knowing the film has been made is some comfort! Not sure how I'll manage to see it when it ever gets to the US and is shown only on digital cable TV, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

I was feeling discouraged because my son had not heard back about a call he had made about a paper route, but I kept praying about it and tried not to lose hope. Hubby and I went grocery shopping, and as we got home, I prayed that a call had come to say Nathan had got the job. Guess what met my eyes when I came into the room? A brand new "paper boy bag" that had been delivered for my son's use, starting tomorrow!

God is good!

He's got the job delivering the local advertising newspaper two days a week. In fact, he's going to try doing two routes, on a trial basis. It doesn't pay much, but it's a start for a boy who's never had a paying job except mowing the lawn at our mission office. The routes are walking routes, which will be good for him, and which he wanted. We'll have to drive him around a bit for starters to pick up the papers and get him to the areas of town where he's to deliver -- until he gets his license -- but that's
no problem.

We'll be looking for a more substantial job for him as well, but for now, we are content let him be just a paper boy. It's the first small step to something bigger -- and small steps are usually the best way to get somewhere!
