Decisions, decisions
Mar. 9th, 2006 09:36 amMy latest news from my Dear Hubby this morning was cut short by him having to go to bed early, due to the fact that he had to take allergy meds for a reaction to a mango milkshake. *scowls* Silly Hubby, he should know better than to eat fresh mangos! I'm the only one in the family who can manage them.
In spite of that, he sounds pretty chipper, but is getting a bit too eager to get rid of all our junk. He keeps making references to matches and burning. He wants me to decide how much we should save for storing for some future day when we might get back -- whether for a visit or for a stay of several months -- but of course, it's three years since I saw all the stuff, and can't remember what might be important to keep. Hopefully he'll take some pictures of it to give me some guidance.
Maybe I should dig up some of our old home videos of the place and see if it jogs my memory enough to make some decisions -- not just for what should stay there for that future day of our return, but what should come back now with him (or be sent) and what should be stored for another trip for the purpose of international junk moving. After all this time, it might be easier to just discard it without looking, but it's hard to let go! It is still a wrench to the heart when I find myself looking for something I want, and then remember it's over there, not here. But it's also been a great lesson in holding material things loosely.
By the end of my hubby's time there, I'll be so eager to have him relieved of the stress of decision-making that I'll be ready to say sell it all, just get back here in one piece! :-D
As long as he brings me the stuff on the "no compromise" list...
