Feeling Pundrah Annay
Jun. 13th, 2006 02:02 pmPundrah annay means 15 annas, an anna being a very small monetary unit in Pakistan. 16 annas equal one rupee. Annas are actually no longer in use as money but the word is still part of the language, as a figure of speech when replying to the question, "How are you?" If the answer is anything less than 16 annas, then that means you are not feeling one hundred percent.
I'm feeling less than perfect, though not totally bad -- mostly because of my foot/leg problem, which also makes my tummy feel a bit upset. I haven't been mentioning it much, but it is still an issue. I think there is healing taking place, but I may have strained the injury recently when I went bowling as part of a fundraising benefit, and so have suffered a setback. *sigh*
I'm also still distracted with that sense of disquiet I mentioned in yesterday's journal entry. I haven't got started yet getting back to the quiet place that keeps me strong no matter what is going on around me. That's the trouble with feeling like something needs changing -- even just a small thing here or there. When I know pretty much how to go about it and what to do, it still takes making a first step to get going down that road!
Maybe I'll get up and do something about that -- after I'm done relaxing with my foot up!
