Double Meat Palace
Jun. 11th, 2007 03:49 pmFor those of you who are familiar with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, you will likely know what that subject heading refers to. I have not actually seen this episode myself, but I have heard of it many times from my son, who is an avid Buffy fan. This is one of his favorite episodes!
So it was with great relish (no pun intended) that he told his good friend and fellow fan over the phone that he has just been hired by the Double Meat Palace.
Yes, you heard me. Hired. My Dear Son has a job at long last -- at McDonald's. The one place he never thought he'd ever go to, but they are the place that was willing to hire him and train him. And that's going to be a good thing. There are lots of things he can learn about life and living in America while working at McDonald's, and I think he's beginning to make a mental list of them already. He doesn't even seem to mind that they are going to make him shave his beard. ;-) I guess not even managers are allowed beards at Mac and Don's.
Now that he has a job, my prayer for my DS will be that he can cope with the job, and learn from it, and grow and make friends and spend money wisely and all that fun stuff!
:-D
