... why Murphy's Law always seems to kick into overdrive at my house anytime I am getting ready to go on a trip?

I'm going away for 10 days next week on my cooking spree, and I have just about all I can take to get ready for that and leave things here in some order so my boys will manage without me during that time.   But this coming week just had to be the week my inlaws decided to have their big garage sale, and I can't not help them get ready for that!

This is also the week that I seem to be extra tired and the List of Doom is weighing heavier than normal.

Ah, well!  The verses from Matthew 11:28-30 come to mind today:

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Yay for light burdens!!

I'm also reminded of a wonderful booklet called Tyranny of the Urgent by Charles Hummel, which InterVarsity Press put out some years ago.  I think I need to read it again, to remind myself that it is possible to hang on to that spiritual rest without being overburdened.  I used to have a link to it where it could be read online, but I can't find it again.  But here it is for my own benefit, where I can find it when I need it -- and maybe one of you, my friends, will benefit from it as well!

I apologize in advance for the odd formatting of the article; I will try to fix it later to make it more presentable -- but right now I'm in a bit of a hurrry!  :-D

Well, I better get started on my busy day.  I am feeling a bit better about it now, thankfully!

*hugs to all my dear ones*
