Chota Mota on Monday
Sep. 17th, 2007 04:44 pmWell, I haven't been very good about showing my face here these days, but that's how it goes sometimes. Ever since I got back from our travels, it seems like I've been extra busy. Not in a bad way, actually -- just busy! I've been lurking a bit when I get a moment, but haven't left my mark to prove it, so you'll have to take my word for it, lol! Fear not, any tales that have been posted will be read, and any thoughts that have been shared (deep or otherwise) will be noted and pondered in due course.
I am planning one of my "no computer" days tomorrow (on a Tuesday rather than a Wednesday, this time around), because I think it will just help me get caught up once and for all, and then I can get back to my regularly scheduled life -- and that includes my online life! :-D
Here's a bit of my "small fat" news to catch you up on me:

If you don't want to do the Meme yourself, but still want a postcard, that's fine, too. One of the things I'm going to do on my no computer day tomorrow is look for my stash of interesting cards to send out, so HOPEFULLY, you'll all hear from me soon. ;-)

Here's a bit of my "small fat" news to catch you up on me:
- Today is one of those days that looks cold but isn't. It's actually colder in the house than outside, which is normally good, but I've opened the windows to get some warm air in! Seems backwards, somehow... Anyway, we've had a cold snap here, and now it is warming up again, even if it doesn't look like it by how bright it is out there. I still heard cicadas humming today, though, so summer isn't over yet! When they are gone, I will be sad, but it will also mean that autumn is here -- my favorite season! Which is maybe one reason I love the sound of cicadas, they are the early heralds of fall.
- My son is doing very well working at McDonalds. He has slipped into the groove now, and can handle just about anything -- as long as it's in the back where the cooking takes place, and not up front where money changes hands! He hasn't been trained for cash registers yet, which is fine with him. He's master of the grill, and that's good enough for now.
- Our electricity went off yesterday morning, for no reason and with no warning. Just like it used to when we lived overseas! I found myself immediately thinking about what I was going to have for lunch in case I couldn't open the fridge or the freezer -- not knowing how long it would be off, you see. It could be off for days! But of course, it wasn't, because this is America! :-D By the time we got back from church it was fixed. The traffic lights a couple of blocks away from our place were out, too, as we drove by, so we figured they'd do something about it quickly enough.
