linaewen: (Son of Gondor by Me)
I am online today, because I am trying to finish up some work that involves the computer.  Since I didn't share any news yesterday, I thought I'd say a few words today, even though it can mostly be classified under the heading "small fat this and that."

The more important kind of Chota Mota:
  • I am ready to tear my hair out over The Extremely Poorly Edited Policy Manual that I shouldn't have put off doing until the week I was moving.  It is almost comedic how this manual has everything that shouldn't capitalized, capitalized, and everything that should be is not.  Since it makes use of a number of titles that need to be capitalized, I am feeling like I'm talking in Pooh Speak, as I type Affinity Director and Annual Conference over and over again....
  • Hubby got our hardwood floors stained and polyurethaned, and they look gorgeous.  I'll try to take a picture today.  We ought to be able to put furniture on it after Thanksgiving sometime.
  • I am not getting as much packing done as I ought to, but I am getting some done.  I have a week left to pack and clean, minus a day and a night taken out to go to my sister's for Thanksgiving tomorrow.
  • I set up our telephone to be switched over to the new house next week, and was pleased to learn we will have our phone hooked up the same day, and our internet the next day.  So I will be offline only about a day -- though I will probably be too busy then with moving to get on the computer anyway.  If it's even set up!

The decidedly small Chota Mota:
  • I gave myself extra user icons for my birthday last year.  With the extra free ones a person gets for being with LJ on a yearly basis, I have a grand total of 111 I can upload -- I am at 103, lol!  Sometimes I wonder what on earth I am doing with all those, since I really only tend to use a few of them -- but I do like the flexibility of having a choice.  ;-)
  • I am having trouble when I do spend time packing because every book or DVD I put into a box turns out to be one I suddenly feel like reading or watching!
  • Our furniture is really going to look very shabby sitting on our new shiny floor.
I may add to this over the course of the day, so check this space for updates -- if you care about Chota Mota.  ;-)

hehe. Pooh Speak :D

I added my beautiful Lingalad Icons from Cassandria yesterday so I am up to 107 of 113 I think. Here's one of them!

Is your furniture distressable or refinishable or paintable? Sometimes I like the look of the contrast between distressed furniture and a high gloss floor, but not all furniture looks good distressed. Plus once you distress it you really can't go back. But since your hubby is in refinishing mode...mwahahaha

I am glad the move won't keep you offline for long!

I can't wait to see pictures!!!

*hugs!*

I certainly need to get some inspiration from you I need to re-pack all these things I have pulled out.

Do you want help with the manual? When does it need to be done? Can you email a portion of it to me?

((((You))))

It's almost done, thankfully. And come to think of it, they've probably all gone home for Thanksgiving, the one's who are waiting on it, so that gives me an extra day or two, lol!

It's the kind of thing that would be hard for anyone outside the mission to figure out and know how to deal with the phraseology, anyway -- but I love you for offering!!

Answering here, so you've one less place to look. :-) You've been pretty quiet, but it was expected with you getting ready to move. I know I try to check here to catch up. Sorry about the editing frustration. Unfortunately, the only thing can do is get it done and out of your hair, ie, the only way is through. I'm looking forward to seeing pics!! YAY! Remember to take a few moments for yourself, and share it with God. It's easy to get busy and forget to be Still. You're wonderfully upbeat. Thanks for helping to keep my spirits up. ~~ LHB
