I've only been doing this for ..oooh...a couple of weeks now and my mind sometimes still boggles. I can barely get the hang of posting my own journals and *jumps up and down* I did figure out the picture thing. But sometimes I start following links and I end up Lord knows where looking at someone's LJ that I don't even know. How I got there I'm not even sure. Haha...but sometimes I poke around anyway because they have good pictures. (and sometimes some pretty raunchy language too)
The great thing is, I can always come back "home" to my own page and start over from there if I get lost. I'm also very impressed with people like boriel who've figure out how to do their own backgrounds and all that stuff.
But, it is good to see you here. I don't post alot (or respond alot) because mostly the only time I have to do this is on my breaks at work. But...maybe I'll have more time in the future.
Thanks! Now I don't feel so alone in my newbiness.
I know I won't be writing in this everyday, but it seems like it might be an interesting forum for putting stuff up that I want to share; easier than email in a way.
Now if I can just figure out how to get something that looks like a real journal...
How did you get that nice spiral notebook kind of set up on your journal? (BTW, I just put your link in my favorites). I'll keep exploring and experimenting. As Doug would say, half of being good at something is not being afraid to try stuff, and see how it works. Guess I'll have to gather my confidence and just see where it takes me.
To be perfectly honest...I don't know. I was just playing around with it one day and I found a place that let you change the style. LOL!! But you figured out how to do the picture thing before I did. LOL!!
I think it's under 'manage' then 'customize'. I'm sure given the leisure time to play with it (or the know how) I could figure out lots of cool things as other's here have done. Shoot, I don't even have a cool title for my journal. :-(
But this is nice that you're here because I hardly ever get to ME anymore.
Slowly but surely it is all sinking in, how this thing works; I see now the advantage to adding friends to the list. I'll get the hang of it eventually, and then I'll never get off the internet, LOL!
I'm with ya Lin!!
