Or in other words, chota mota.
I have been very tired the last couple of days, not sure why. I could have worn myself out more than I thought shoveling heavy snow on Sunday, or it could be I'm not eating right, or I'm not sleeping well or enough. Maybe it's just the weather. I have never been one to be greatly affected by gloomy days, but I do think I would really like to see some sun soon. And have it be warm. I went for a walk this morning, and it was nice to be out moving, but it was also awkward, because it really is still too icy to walk with any kind of confidence, and there are SOME people who don't bother to shovel their sidewalks. Tsk, tsk.
I heard and saw a mourning dove on my walk today, and my mom told me they had a robin at their bird feeder the other day. Silly birds, coming back too early! But still, it's a good sign that some warmer weather is not too far away. Shhh! Don't tell my winter-loving son that I am wishing for spring!
Speaking of birds, I got a lovely new birdfirder from my dad as an early Christmas present, but it has turned out to be a disappointment. I think there have been two birds at it this winter. Sparrows. I really was hoping for cardinals, sigh. Perhaps it's set up too close to the public sidewalk. Perhaps we should consider moving it while there is still time for the birds to get used to it being there.
We got a new water meter today, as part of a routine exchange of new for old. Nice to get new stuff for free! We are most happy, because the old one made the most horridly loud thunking noise everytime the toilet was flushed or the washing machine ran, that echoed through the house. Now it is blessedly quiet.
I have taken on a new project which I'm not sure I can do, but it's worth a try. It is editing coursebooks put out by some former coworkers to help overseas workers learn the Urdu language. I am still feeling my way with it -- and part of that is learning how to use Microsoft Publisher so I can do the editing! -- but it looks interesting.
I'm still feeling the need to finetune my goals and my vision for what I want to see happen in this coming year. It may be almost March, but I still am thinking of it as a new year, and that means it's time to resolve some resolutions.
My first resolution at the moment involves lunch and then a nap!
