Well, getting used to new glasses is always fun, isn't it?  Especially when one already has a sinus headache that goes with a head cold!  It really does make one feel quite wierd.

Last night the eyes gave me quite a bit of trouble.  I had to get off the computer, because one eye stayed dilated while the other one adjusted back to normal.  That was just too odd, and looking at a bright screen didn't help!  That's better today, but the adjustment to the glasses themselves continues.

One problem is, I didn't get the photogrey tinting I usually have with my glasses -- which I actually need, because I am sensitive to sunlight and flourescent light.  Not sure how that got missed in the makeup of the glasses, but it did.  Drat.  I shall have to take them back and get that added in.  But that shouldn't be a problem; hopefully I won't have to wait more than an hour for it again.

The other thing is this weird feeling at times that things are tilted.  My right eye seems to be giving me the illusion that one side of a thing is higher than the other.  It has always bugged me if something is uneven, so you can imagine my irritation with feeling like the stove is not level -- especially when it is!  I don't think this is a problem with the glasses, though.  I think it's my eye getting used to the way my glasses should be.  The doctor told me that my last pair were slightly askew in the trifocal part, so that no doubt trained my eye improperly.

Other than that, they seem to be right, as far as ease of reading and seeing goes.  :-)

I was going to try to give it another day, to see if the crooked eye thing settles, before I go in to get the lenses tinted, but maybe I'll just go do it today, in case I have to wait more than a day and have to wear my old glasses for a bit.  No use getting used to the new ones and then having to go back again to the old!

I always have a terrible time with the dilation. I am legally blind in my right eye and it is particularly sensitive to light, anyway. When they dilate both of my eyes, my right eye crosses in hard and stays there until it wears off, thereby gauranteeing that I will feel headachy and nauseated, let alone not being able to see anything. Just the thought of having to do it makes the room spin and my stomach churn! And they always say it will wear off in an hour or two - nope. I am never ok until the next day. bleh! Poor you!

That is really weird about the tilting thing! Isn't it amazing what we can train our eyes to do? Have you seen that study where they had people use glasses that inverted their view and eventually they saw everything as it should be - but if they took the glasses off then everything would invert.

Here's hoping your eyes adjust soon!

*hugs!*

I hope the glasses settle down for you soon, my dear Lin.

I've got to settle down. I'm laughing my head off just thinking about your icon for this entry. I can't believe you actually have one like that. You are too cute!

Welp, I sure feel for you and your eyes. I wish mine were correctable, but what you are experiencing is partially what I experience normally when I am going into my Lady Hawke existence at nightfall, only it's both eyes and everything isn't where it really is. Keep me off the road!

Hey, can you believe SoCal is expecting 95 degree weather this weekend? I'm expecting earthquakes, what with the extended below freezing temps we had a month ago. Geologically hot and cold equals earthquakes (all that sudden expansion and contraction doesn't bode well on fault lines). You can tell I have a geography degree. Everyone else is getting ready to head for the beach while I'm running around howling "Earthquake! Earthquake!" and making sure everything is bolted down. Nighty night.
