I have been unable to get into my journal for several days, but with perseverance I can finally update this at least... though it remains to be seen if this will actually post!

I can't get into my friends list, so if you see this, please know I am thinking of you and miss you all terribly and will try to catch up someday when my journal starts working again.

I am flat out busy, as described in my recent journal entries, but I am hanging in there. I even had time to write and post a new Boromir chapter, which I will try to put here if I can get the thing to work properly. I do know they are having a bit of trouble with the LJ server somewhere, so I suppose that is affecting me. :-(

I now realize how much it means to me to be able to meet you all here daily. ((((LJ friends)))) I love you all, and I'll be in touch soon, Insha'allah, as they say in Pakistan! That is, if God wills, and if LJ wills!

Hi Lin! I've been having some dreadful trouble with posting/LJ in general today too. I don't know why. It was only with great difficulty that I got an entry posted on my own journal. and I have no idea whether this comment will work or not!

I read your Boromir chapter on the old boards (still can't quite leave them completely) and posted a response on the new boards. Wonderful chapter!!

yes please try and post your new chapter here...and everyone is having problems with LJ this past few days. i have lj user="lj_maintenance" (in the little < > of course) on my friends list and they give you heads up when there are problems.

When things go weird with LJ I check their lj_maintenance page. They've been operating this week without a System Administrator. Their new one doesn't start until the end of the week (maybe his first day is today) and their other one is on vacation, so they've had trouble moving things around as needed to accommodate bottlenecks this week, which means everything is sloooooowwww.

Hopefully things will be back up to speed soon! We just take them all for granted, don't we? It's times like these when we know we need them!

Slow day
You probably noticed the site is slow today, we've run into a few issues with our internal network connections and as a result our servers and switches have been overloaded. At the office we've been scrambling to fix different problems as they arise, but in Seattle we have no sysadmin to move things around for us; our new sysadmin Brett doesn't start until tomorrow, and our beloved lisa is on vacation in Europe.

Things have started to calm down, but the site is now catching up on filling database caches so there may be more slowness today/tonight.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Finally!! things seem to be loosening up. The pages are actually loading at their normal rate.

I've missed you dear. Actually, I owe you a long e-mail. Going to Indiana though this weekend (family reunion ...yay...I get to see Gondoriangirl!) But Monday maybe I'll sit down and write ye a long one.
