Chota mota for Friday

I've been keeping busy the last day or two, so while I've been here and looked at everyone's journal, I haven't left comments yet.  Sorry!  I'll get back to it, promise.  ;-)

Here begins the chota mota:

• I think I need to find/make myself a "chota mota" user picture.  That would be fun!  *writes that on the list*
• Yesterday I had a "trying on party" as my mom used to call it -- where you get out the clothes you had put away for the season, and try them all on to see if they fit.  I made a pile of things to get rid of because they are TOO BIG!  Wheeee!  Guess there's something to this weight loss thing after all.  I wish the pile had been bigger, but there you are.  The nice thing is, some of the things in the "too tight but I really want to wear them some day" bag, now fit.  ;-)
• I've been trying to do a bit of housecleaning every day, so as not to be too frantic just before the guest we are expecting comes.  He'll be here in about 10 days.  The problem is there are still a bunch of undone projects that make it hard to look thoroughly neat.  Nothing like having boxes without a home as yet and tools all over the place to make it hard to clean up.  ;-)
• dentist again today.  I'm getting my crowns fitted.  They told me it would require novacaine, so I am planning for a dopey weekend.  Hopefully, this is the last round for awhile.
• I had a nice talk with my sister on the phone last night.  I'm looking forward to getting together with her soon.  She's only about an hour and half away, but you'd think we still lived in Pakistan for the amount of time I have been able to get together with her.  ;-)  Guess distance is relative, isn't it?  And busy lives interfere even between sisters.
• The weather is lovely here, but there's just enough rain coming at intervals to spoil our camping plans.  The times we are free to get away are the times when the weather is less than ideal.  Fortunately, we aren't tied to weekends for going, so we have our eyes on the calendar and the weather report, and we'll be ready to make a dash for it when we get an opening.  We just want to do two nights out, hopefully that will work out before the month is over.
• DS went to a job fair the other day -- an accomplishment in itself for a young man who gets crowd claustrophobia sometimes -- and filled out quite a few job applications.  He's got others out besides those, so hopefully a job will come out of that!

Guess that's all for now.  I've got a few things to take care of before I go to the dentist, and then nap for the rest of the day, so I'd best get to them.  Tah tah for now!

ETA:  I found an icon that might work for my  "chota mota" posts.  ;-)  The progression from small to "fat" seems somehow fitting.  Thanks, juno_icons!

I'm happy to hear that some of the things you wanted to fit do and others are too big. I'm going to clean out my part of the closet this weekend and then take the whole mess to Salvation Army; not just to get rid of it for size, but there are clothes that look nice, just not on me; I can't be cut across the middle, even on a bias because it just looks bad. I have so many ideas for things that would look good, but since I can't draw and can't sew, I think I'm out of luck.

I'm really proud of Natha for just getting out there and doing things that are uncomfortable for him, yet he's sticking to it. Give him a big hug for me, ok?

Oh, good for Nathan! I hope the dopiness isn't too bad for you. Good luck with housecleaning and getting to spend time with your sister. I know what you mean about that.
