One of the things I was involved in while I lived overseas was serving on the school board for the British/American boarding school in the country, where my son attended. I was a representative on the board for our mission group, and then later I served many years as minutes secretary, which also gave me a position on the executive committee.
One has never fully lived until one has been in charge of taking minutes at a multi-national board meeting where everyone presents their motions in a different way, which has to be sorted out on the fly.
At least I had a laptop computer to take the minutes on, though it didn't have a very good battery, and if the electricity went off -- which it always did, at least once during the meeting -- I only had a minute or two to save before all was lost! I got very good at saying, "Could I have that motion in writing, please?"
Anyway, I got an email today that the school is registering with the government, and needs info from all the board members, even the former ones who aren't in the country anymore. I haven't been on the board in four years, much less in the country, but I still had to provide my name, (former) address and position on the board, as well as the most vitally important piece of info that is on all forms and applications and which the police come around at least 5 times a year checking to make sure it hasn't changed -- my father's name.
Ah, it's fun to be reminded of things like that when I am least expecting it.

Thanks for the prayers, they are most appreciated!
