I see I have not been paying attention to my updating of late, sorry about that. All is going along busily and as usual around here. We are still in that strange state of mind where we are weary of winter and snow, yet feel cheated when it doesn't snow as much as they say it is going to. I think we have that inborn Wisconsin pride in the amount of snow that falls here, and we like it to be noteworthy and record-breaking -- but winter is still wearisome! Thank God for the sun that has been shining most days, it makes a big difference to my level of cheerfulness, which is usually pretty good but has taken a bit of a beating this wintry season!
The major burden of my life at the moment is preparing for one of those icky tests that people over 50 have to have as part of a routine physical examination. Today I can eat nothing solid, nor anything red or purple or with milk in it. It's amazing how many juices, popsicles and Jello flavors are red or purple! So far I'm doing all right, because lime Jello is surprisingly sustaining, but I am feeling pretty much 11 o'clockish right now, as Winnie-the-Pooh would say, and it's just going to get more hungry out as the day goes along. But there's nothing but Jello and juice and maybe some broth or 7-Up to tide me over until tomorrow. I do get coffee, though, but not with milk!
We won't mention the pills I get to take later today that will clean me out and make me feel ugh. ;-)
I'm a bit behind in my reading and commenting, but I should be able to catch up in the next day or two. I'm taking advantage of my icky test, and using it as a means to take a break and lay about, hehe! Let's just hope the wee bit of anesthetic they give me tomorrow doesn't knock me for a loop, as that stuff is known to do, so that I really am laying about groggily!
Time for more Jello, yum! And maybe some apple juice!

Date: 2008-02-29 09:47 pm (UTC)From:I am just home from my procedure, and doing well -- albeit a bit groggy from the anesthetic. I had a nice nap just now, and I'm feeling better for it. It wasn't a bad thing to go through, all things considered, and it proves I am nice and healthy, so that is good to know.
How have you been keeping? I trust life is treating you honorably!
