I'm sitting here listening to some nice music -- or it would be nice, if it weren't so tinny. And if the circumstances were more conducive to enjoyment.
I'm on hold, waiting for the next IRS representative to stop helping other customers and come help me.
Why, do you ask?
Well, because it looks like our Federal forms, which we filed electronically months ago, never got to the IRS, and we have only discovered this today. Yes, today, the day AFTER the cut-off date.
So I'm sitting here, feeling sick (for real, too; I was out sick yesterday, and am only a bit better today) -- waiting to find out if it's true, and what we are supposed to do about it. And also, can we still get a stimulus check, or did our e-file group snooker us out of that?
And here's the update -- while I was typing, I got connected at last, and tried to explain my problem. The fellow on the other end didn't seem to be very understanding right off the bat, so I tried to explain further and after a long monologue, discovered we were no longer connected. I suspect it was my computer phone messing up, as I couldn't call back -- it says I have no microphone.
*sigh*
So that was disappointing. All that waiting, and no help, as well as the dregs of a possible snippy answer to dwell on. ;-) We are going to try again this evening, using a real phone at the Center where we work. DH is on call all day there today, so he can't sit and be on hold, in case someone comes in and needs help. And I'm not ready to do it again just yet.
So it's put off until later.
In the meantime, we'll have to try to distract ourselves from grousing about why those e-file people didn't tell us there was a problem, and why didn't we look into it earlier, etc. etc.

Date: 2008-10-16 08:59 pm (UTC)From:Sorry to hear of this mess as you have enough to do already. It may turn out well after all and mayhap you get a bigger refund too. The IRS can not hold you at harm since you used a service.
be calm as you can and it will work out
stir the waters of Deep Peace
