My dad went into the hospital last night, and is going to be there at least until Tuesday. I wouldn't be surprised if he is there over Christmas Eve, as well -- seems he has some kind of bacterial blood infection and the possible beginnings of pneumonia. Both of these things have been troublesome for him in the past, but not for a long time. He's actually not been in the hospital for quite awhile, whereas previously, he used to be admitted regularly. I think he still knows all the nurses by name, though. ;-)
So this throws an interesting spin on the attempts to have a very traditional Christmas celebration on Christmas Eve! I guess we shall proceed as planned, and if we have to take the celebrating to his hospital room, we'll do so!
In other news, we are having fun times with wind chills around here, ranging from -25 to -30 degrees. Living in the Midwest is grand! :-D

We don't have your wind chills, thank goodness, but we are getting socked in with snow.

The air is so cold that I could hardly breathe when I had to go outside to dump the manure. But that's life in the Midwest!
