Thanks so much for voting, everyone! It was interesting watching the votes come in over the course of the voting period, but it was fairly obvious from the beginning which story was going to win. ;-)
My epic Lords of Gondor came in third with 9 votes and my plot bunny about what Boromir was up to while hanging out in Rivendell for two months came in second with 10 votes. The winning story, drawing in 13 votes, was this one:
Fandom: Lord of the Rings
Rating: all-ages
Type: gen
Description: Plot bunny -- Boromir somehow recognizes Aragorn as being Thorongil, who spent time in Minas Tirith when Boromir was a young child. How does this affect their relationship and goals?
I already have some good ideas about where I'm going with it, so that's promising! I just hope it doesn't get to be another one of those long multi-chapter things I tend to fall into. In any case, this one needs to be completed by 6 pm on June 24th, so it can't be too epic! It also can't be so complicated that it takes away from the other things I'm working on -- namely, the stories that didn't win the vote, plus a couple of other big writing commitments. I have renewed my vows, so to speak, on getting some of my long-time unfinished tales finished, along with being involved in the LOTR Big Bang Challenge. I'm probably crazy to put myself under all these writing deadlines, but you know what? It's helping me get back into the writing, and that's a good thing!
I'm only tearing my hair out a little bit in the process. ;-)
