Well, I'm halfway through my ordeal -- that of cooking for 50 people in a kitchen the size of my own at home. Today is the first day I didn't wake up with a headache -- I think I finally slept without dreaming of cooking something!
It's actually going okay and is kind of fun -- after the first day, where I totally lost my temper a couple of times and butted heads with the guy who does the shopping. It took me all day to figure out how best to deal with him, but once I apologized for being crabby, and once he realized I didn't understand the routine and was overwhelmed, we did fine. Now we are buddies.
My chicken biryani (Pakistani spiced rice with chicken and almonds and raisins) went over famously. I made that on the first day, because it was easy for me and I knew I could make enough for an army. The other days we've cooked nice "American" stuff. In a few days I'll be doing another Pakistani dish, which will be fun.
I can leave a day early, so I think I will; I want to get home to deal with guests leaving and coming, and get rested up for my next big outing: a trip to the LOTR Exhibition in Boston with some of my favorite people -- you know who you are!

I can't wait to hear reports from the exhibit and how everyone loved it. YOu must make sure to give seansbeanie a big huge hug from me. I miss her already.
I'm so jealous that you get to spend all this time with ringers. ::Sigh::
But, you deserve it. You've been working hard. Have fun!!
