linaewen: (Man in Distress)
Another day off in which I will have to do some work other than what I want to do. I want to spend the whole day writing, of course, but that is frivolous. Maybe if I spend some time this morning on my "Boromir writing hobby" I can get somewhere while it is quiet, and then do the RW stuff later in the day. Besides the usual household chores, I have a deadline this week at work with a prayer bulletin I have to write for the mission prayer publication, so I will need to work on it some today -- even though it is my day off. It's my own fault for procrastinating!

As is my wont since getting hooked on this journal, I have been fiddling with it, trying to get a better handle on how it works. I wish I was allowed more than three pictures with this free LJ. Every time I change to a new one, I have to delete a perfectly good one that I have used in comments, and then that one is replaced by the other. There are so many I want to use!! Oh, well! That's the price of the free account, I suppose. It will keep people guessing who look back at my old comments. As long as I keep my default one intact, I am okay. :-D

I had a lovely weekend. Saturday evening was spent with Ringer friends -- they are more like sisters, really! Kimby, SWG and Rosie, I loved spending the evening with you! I have been very blessed this past year, in that I have been able to meet so many lovely people whom I have gotten to know from the Boards. On my recent trip to Florida, I was able to spend 5 glorious hours with CRB, and my visit to the RenFaire in Wisconsin last year afforded me the opportunity to meet many others, with whom I still correspond. I look forward to Boston now, not just because I'll get to see Boromir stuff with my own eyes, but because it will be another opportunity to meet my friends, whom I feel I know, yet just haven't met yet face to face.

Yesterday was also a lovely day, because I was able to have some time off from family stuff and just spend the whole afternoon and evening with Boromir and my story! Nice! Hubby sometimes thinks my obsession is a bit silly, but he knows by now that writing is important to me, and he also knows I get pretty owly if I go too long with out my Boromir time!

This journal won't always be about writing and Boromir, but that's what is on my mind today. Monday in particular seems to be a Boromir kind of day...

About that Boromir icon...

I got it off one of the LOTR sites like Council of Elrond or War of the Ring in it's small version, so it was easy enough to cut down a bit to use as a thumbnail, but it is actually a small section of a bigger drawing/painting by John Howe, called Boromir and Frodo, I think. I'll email it to you!

I am spinning my wheels so far, my good intentions to write while it was quiet are quickly evaporating. Lunch time already???

In my fiddling, my nice icon was switched back to default, so I will add it back in, and hope it stays put for awhile. I will forego fiddling for a bit.
