What I did today

I went to Walmart, gift card in hand (given to me as thanks for cooking for a crowd this summer). I naturally gravitated to the LOTR action figures, not expecting anything special. Helm's Deep Legolas was there with "shield skateboard" looking very spiffy and quite cool, to say the least! Boromir told me he needed some company on his shelf, so now Legolas is going back to PA with me to stand next to his good friend and fellow warrior Boromir.

They had a Pippin in Gondorian armor, too, but he looked wrong, so I passed him up. I still have to save money for Boromir in Gondorian armor if he ever comes out! I used the rest of the gift card on practical stuff like socks.

Whee! Legolas with skateboard action!
And I have to agree with you about Pippin in armour, I love Pip, but that action figure just "looks wrong".

Yes, I'm pretty pleased with Legolas -- though he doesn't stay on his skateboard as nicely as he did in the film. ;-) I won't just automatically buy the new Boromir when he comes out -- he has to look right, or I won't get him, armor or no. I now have "right looking" Boromir and Legolas, and Sam and Frodo in orc armor. I haven't really liked the look of anyone else -- though I certainly haven't seen as many figures as there are in existence, in the stores I manage to get to!
