Saturday at work

I'm at the office today, fiddling about on my computer here while I wait for Board members to need coffee and lunch. I volunteered to set out the food needs for the Board today, not realizing it meant being here nonstop for a couple of hours! But so far it hasn't been a problem, except for wondering if they need coffee yet -- I don't want to interrupt their meeting, but I can't tell if they are on break as they are all the way up on third floor!

Oh, well, no big deal. I check at intervals to see if the chairman is still speaking... yep! Still speaking.

Guess I'll take advantage of the quiet to get some "fun" work done here on my computer, while keeping an ear tuned for the sounds of a board on break...

This is probably one of my duller journal entries, hehe! I'm sure anyone reading this will go right to sleep!

On a more interesting note, it is raining here, the remnants of Hurricane Ivan. I live too close to the office to justify driving over, so I have wet feet as I sit here goofing off on my work computer. But I don't mind. :-)

Yep. I went up with coffee in hand, but the snack table looked undisturbed, and I didn't like the idea of walking in on 20 board members -- even if I do know most of them! If they need fresh coffee they can come find me. It'll be lunch time soon anyway!

How'd that for service? :-D

BTW, did you notice the deleted post, or did I get to it in time? I am experimenting under another username, and thought I could be logged in at the same time as two different "people" if I used two different browsers. NOT!

Yes! I have figured out how to put up a background in my experimental journal -- it's easy! and I am now trying to figure out to have a setup like you have, with a background that shows, and still have individual icons show up with each post. I'm not getting that currently. Maybe because it's not a paid account? Do you have to do an override to do that? Do you know what I am talking about?? I also am getting the dull generic page when I post to myself, instead of my nice, newly chosen theme on all pages. And if I change the color, it only changes on the main page and not the "inside" pages. Grrr!

Maybe I should email you, hehe! Or maybe I should read the directions...

my journal style is haven, which is paid only, but if you go here berior and have a look, i've used a different style (unearthed) and just changed the content alignment (text) to be right instead of centered, and changed the width of the content box to 60% to make the background show up more.

as for user icons - not sure what you mean.

and yes, if you have a free account, your entries to yourself show up on the white generic page, but i can see yours in your style (because mine's paid i guess)

No point in writing if you don't feel like it. That's the best way to get a case of writer's block. If you feel like reading, then that's what's on for the evening. Rain is conducive to reading!

I actually haven't been writing. I've been experimenting with another journal setup that can use a background.

The food is all out, and I am just waiting for them to come down and snarf it down so I can clean up and go home. Which will be the end of playing around, I suppose, because there will be work waiting for me. :-(

I was worried about you! The weather reports have been showing great dark patches on the radar right over Reading!

We are still getting rained out over here, but it's a comforting sound, since I am spending the day indoors.

I haven't been outside for hours, and can't see out from here, but I suppose it is pretty heavy rain here. But no thunder or anything.
