I'm beginning to think I'd better stay home and not leave the house. I just recovered from a spill on the sidewalk earlier in the week, now I am recovering from smashing up my car.
:-/
To make a long story short, I was looking for a parking place -- saw a spot but didn't see the SUV coming down the street -- blinded by the sun -- so I turned in front of him, and that was that. The impact swung me around so that I hit lightly another SUV parked on the other side of the street.
This all happened right in front of my house, too. Which in the end was a blessing, because Hubby was right there to deal with everything -- after he recovered from his horrible fright of hearing the crash and looking out to see that it was ME! A couple of other blessings -- an EMT happened to be walking by, and he phoned all the appropriate police, etc. and my neighbor across the street who goes to our church brought me ice for my nose, which was bleeding.
No one hurt but me -- I banged my nose and upper lip on the steering wheel and have a bit of a stiff neck from the jerk of the seatbelt. Not bad, considering. I'm at work today, but I think I may go home -- which is where I probably should have stayed in the first place!
Hope I can get back home in one piece!

Date: 2004-09-20 10:12 am (UTC)From:Just kidding! Of course, it is not your fault, nor do I believe that you have been in the slightest careless. I do hope that whatever karmic burden you have been paying these past few days in now satisfied, so you can relax and heal!
I hate to think of a friend in discomfort, where I can't help but with a few feeble words. I do care about you, and hope you get all better soon.
.... and that the other driver gets a rash on his/her nose or something for not being more careful of other drivers!
