I'm beginning to think I'd better stay home and not leave the house. I just recovered from a spill on the sidewalk earlier in the week, now I am recovering from smashing up my car.

:-/

To make a long story short, I was looking for a parking place -- saw a spot but didn't see the SUV coming down the street -- blinded by the sun -- so I turned in front of him, and that was that. The impact swung me around so that I hit lightly another SUV parked on the other side of the street.

This all happened right in front of my house, too. Which in the end was a blessing, because Hubby was right there to deal with everything -- after he recovered from his horrible fright of hearing the crash and looking out to see that it was ME! A couple of other blessings -- an EMT happened to be walking by, and he phoned all the appropriate police, etc. and my neighbor across the street who goes to our church brought me ice for my nose, which was bleeding.

No one hurt but me -- I banged my nose and upper lip on the steering wheel and have a bit of a stiff neck from the jerk of the seatbelt. Not bad, considering. I'm at work today, but I think I may go home -- which is where I probably should have stayed in the first place!

Hope I can get back home in one piece!

That is so terrible you should be at home not at work. I remember my first bad car accident I was so upset about it, the injuries were secondary to my poor emotional state. I found it hard to drive for a while because I kept second guessing what I was doing. I hope you went to the Dr. just to make sure everything was okay. You may find that you get more stiff and sore as the day wears on if this happens get thee to a comfy bed and take the rest of the day off:). Take care ((((((((((((big)))))))))) hope you feel better soon.

Everyone at work here said the same, I should probably obey! I might as well go home, as I am having trouble concentrating on my work. A comfy bed sounds like a good idea, actually! I didn't sleep well last night, for some strange reason. :-D

Thanks for the hugs -- those and that sweet baby in your icon cheered me up immensely!

God is good, but He knows what "day of rest" means too. :-)
((huggles you gently and shoos you off to bed))

Indeed! I'm packing up to go now. ;-)

CUT IT OUT WOMAN!!!

Sheesh!! What am I gonna do with you? Did you drive when you lived in Pakistan? Maybe you need to go back there where you'll be safer. ;-)

::gentle squeeze:: BE CAREFULL!!! I love you.

Sorry. :-( I shall be more careful in the future, I promise. (((((Sandy)))))

Good god, woman! You're gonna make my heart stop!

Just kidding! Of course, it is not your fault, nor do I believe that you have been in the slightest careless. I do hope that whatever karmic burden you have been paying these past few days in now satisfied, so you can relax and heal!

I hate to think of a friend in discomfort, where I can't help but with a few feeble words. I do care about you, and hope you get all better soon.

.... and that the other driver gets a rash on his/her nose or something for not being more careful of other drivers!

(((Loth))) On the contrary, your words are far from feeble, dear friend!

Oh goodness!! That could have been so much worse. I'm thanking God you're all right! Eek, it must have been terrible for your husband.
You watch it now! We don't want anything happening to our Lin! ((((((Linaewen)))))) I'll keep you in my prayers. Hope you get over this accident-proneness, and soon!

Thanks, dear! Yes, I fear I gave my dear hubby a shock, but he's been wonderful. My guardian angel has been working overtime this week!

You have to survive
Promise me you will be more careful

I'm okay, don't worry. And I do promise. ;-)

Eeek - I am so glad it wasn't worse, but wish I could reach through cyberspace here to at least give you a hug, cook you some soup and put some flowers on your table. (((((((Lin))))))) Murphy's Law seems to be working overtime for you lately.

Date: 2004-09-20 01:20 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] lin4gondor.livejournal.com
Murphy and his law didn't affect me on the way home from work, so maybe he's left town to go bother someone else. In the meantime, I'm at home answering calls from insurance people. :-/

I am fine, dearest. Feeling much better now that I am home!

You have mail, my accident-prone one. I'm so glad you are safe and sound.

I thank you for that hug, I do need one -- or two -- even though I am okay and feeling fine. Hugs from dear friends offsets the feeling of being a real doofus nicely. :-)

I'm glad you went home. I think your guardian angel needs reinforcements! ::prays accordingly::

Thanks so much for the prayers, reinforcements might be good! I seem to be at risk these days, LOL! ((((Tini))))

You poor thing! (((((Margaret))))) I'm just getting around to reading this, but I hope you are doing better. Pretty soon though, I am going to be scared to read your entries. I feel the same way about talking with my mom. She has been having quite a few spills in the past few years. I always seem to know by her "hello" as to what kind of call it's going to be. Take care sweetie.
