I'm doing fine as far as the tooth goes. I don't like the taste in my mouth that comes from the temporary aluminum thing they put in, and it bumps painfully on my upper teeth, but I can live with that for a few weeks! Other than that, I am pain free, except for the usual sinus pain that troubles me when it is cool and rainy -- like it is today.
I'm doing fine in other ways as well; I think I am catching up, in spite of the attempts of my Ruling List of Doom to get the better of me. Even if I am deluded and I am not truly catching up, at least I am less stressed about it!
I'm getting lots of opportunities at work to do different kinds of writing. One article I have been asked to do is about the transition I have experienced over the past couple of years. I am thinking of writing that article based on the example of Bilbo and his pocket hankerchiefs -- if I am brave enough to use an example from Tolkien to illustrate a point in a mission newsletter!
I think I am brave enough, hehe!

I love the chronicles of Narnia, but those were written far more specifically so it's harder to pull anything out of it other than what Lewis intended. For instance, there are a plethora (there's my $10 word for the day)of Christ figures in Tolkien, but in the Narnia stories, there is really only one. (Aslan)

That's very true regarding the Narnia chronicles. It would be interesting to go back now and re-read them having read so much Tolkien and look for how the two authors influenced each other.
