I had a great weekend! It was a real weekend, too, as in nothing pressing, no deadlines, do work if you want, but if you don't -- don't! The house was spiffy after my cleaning exertions of Friday, and I even did more work when I didn't have to because I was in the cleaning mood. We had guests overnight Friday, but they were very nice, and left in time on Saturday for us to run out and see the last matinee showing for the day of National Treasure.
I have been so keen to see this film! I admit, it was because of Sean Bean, but truly, I have never been disappointed by a film he has appeared in. My Hubby is beginning to believe me when I say Sean Bean = good film. ;-)
We had a great time! Hubby is still talking about it, which means it was a great film. :-D The film was clever, fun -- not to mention very funny! -- and exciting; just tense enough to be enjoyable, but not to the point we couldn't take it. We liked the story (critics can quibble that it was preposterous, but we thought it held together just fine), and the tidbits of history were worked in in quite a fascinating way. Whether the truth was stretched or not, it didn't matter to us, because it fit with the intention film story. It made me want to go out and learn more about some of those places and people -- and that's what a good movie does. There was no strong language or nudity, and all the actors were very comfortable in their roles, and it showed in the quality of their performance.
And of course, Mr. Bean looked good, and was in the film A LOT, and though he was the chief villain, he wasn't evil, and he wasn't stupid.
I'd go again today, if I didn't have to work. This is one movie we will be purchasing for sure.
