News of my Dad

My mom just called to tell me that after having some tests done today, my Dad is on his way to the big city hospital to have a pacemaker put in. He has been getting more and more lethargic, and they finally realized it is because his heart rate has slowed way down.

This could be the answer to a lot of his current problems (though he still has some chronic ones), and the surgery to put it in is not that big a deal, but it's always a bit of a worry when he goes into the hospital! Though he does always come out feeling better... ;-)

Anyway, I'll keep you posted!

May it go well - I know we had a neighbor that had his energy level just shoot up into the sky after he had surgery like that - here's hoping!

being one who knows, if they let him stay awake for it (which is most typical) it shouldnt be that hard on him - less anesthetic for the body to have to get rid of. And yes, energy levels do go up, and i was warm for the first time in my life. If you visit him right away, dont be surprised to see his face absolutely full of color - mine was the color of your pink background here, for about a month.

Thanks, dearest! Your prayers mean a lot! The hard part is waiting for news. I think they may do the job today sometime, and if he does well, maybe they will release him in a few days. I really pray this is the answer for him, because his lack of energy has been pitiful!

I'm certainly hoping and praying for more energy for him -- it's been very sad, really, to have him like he is now. If a simple thing like that will do the trick, then I'm all for it! :-D
