You may recall me mentioning that "chota mota" means "small fat" in Urdu -- their way of saying this and that, or bits and bobs. So here's some chota mota --

I just spent at least half an hour looking for black socks. Every time I go to Walmart I buy black socks, but do you think I can find any now? No. Well, yes, I did find one measly pair, but they are not clean. There are no others to be found -- not in the clean laundry, not in my drawer, not under the bed. Hmmm! I need black socks to go with what I am wearing on my outing tomorrow. So I am washing socks right now.

I am going to Baltimore for lunch tomorrow. And maybe dinner, I'm not sure. It is the Media Department excursion, a treat to reward ourselves for getting a big job done on time. Should be fun -- if I can get my black socks clean and dry on time. ;-)

We have two phone lines and it still isn't enough. We try to keep one line open for calls, but it doesn't always work. My son's been on the internet all evening, and me being desperate to check my email, I snuck on with the laptop on the other line for a bit. Just as I get off, the phone rings, but the upstairs phone is now disconnected because I was online, and I can't make it downstairs without killing myself on the stairs. So the answering machine picked up and no one left a message. I hope it wasn't someone important. :-(

Just in case, I called my mom. She hadn't called but we talked anyway. My dad is home from the hospital and everything is a-okay with him. Nice to know his heart is so healthy. I found out he is taking 18 different medications, and the heart specialist is pretty amazed at that. Me, too! No wonder he is having problems -- that's just too much!

I got a new book today, "Untangling Tolkien : A Chronology and Commentary for LOTR" by Michael Perry. It's my kind of book, that puts together in one place lots of complicated details about things like what Merry and Pippin were doing while Sam was preparing Frodo's rabbit stew -- with phases of the moon, too! :-D It's all in the books, but this guy has gone to all the effort of putting it together in a readable form, so that I don't have to. That will save some time with my inkling -- maybe I'll get more than one chapter a month written now!

Had enough chota mota yet? ;-)

Glad your dad is doing well, (((Lin))). It does sound like you may need a third line! LOL.

that almost sounds like something to drink. You know like Chai Tea? LOL!

speaking of chai tea. I just found that Lipton makes a chai tea in tea bags. I made some the other day and added heavy cream to it and lots of sugar. nummy!!!!

I think I could be addicted to this for a while. :-)
