New glasses

In about a week I'll be getting new glasses. They will look a bit different, but not so different that people who know me will be shocked; they will probably look at me quizzically and say, "Did you do something to your hair?" ;-)

I was shocked by how much they cost, even with a 50% sale on the lenses and going with the cheapest frames. I guess my prescription is a bit complicated -- though my son's is pretty straightforward and it cost a pretty penny as well. But it could have been worse. It HAS been awhile since we got new glasses, so I'm sure they, like everything else, cost more these days. And we got in on the last day of the 50% off sale, so that was nice.

I'm going with graduated lenses for my trifocals this time -- hope I can stand it. I've had the the old fashioned kind with the line for a long time. But we'll see; they say I can have them replaced if I can't adjust to them like that.

I am looking forward to being able to see properly again, hehe!

Are you still awake after all that? I know, it was dull, but that's what I did this morning. In other news, it is a beautiful day today with nary a winter coat in sight. Nice!

I was always jealous of those that had to wear glasses. I think sometimes they can be the perfect accessory. Unfortunately (well not that unfortunate) I have 20/20 vision so I don't need them. A friend of mine and I went to see if we could buy some cheap reading glasses for the first day of school, except we couldn't find any. My mom has an astigmatism (sp?) and whenever I wear her glasses all I can see are colored shapes.

I'm happy for you about your new glases. You seem really excited about them, and I can only imagine that your newfound happiness in your glasses will extend to those around you. Good luck ajusting to the trifocals!

Aren't new glasses fun???? They are one of the few things i don't mind shopping for. I ususally got for dark frames and grey transition lenses. I once bought gold frames and brown transition lenses(big mistake). anywho, have fun with the new glasses!

It is a beautiful day! I have the windows open, and am drinking a nice cup of tea in my beautiful Pakistani mug. :-)

New glasses are very high. I have to get my check but can not afford it yet so I will put it off until I can afford it. It must be in the air because it is beautiful here today also.
