My boy is very wise
Jun. 14th, 2005 07:53 pmWe had a "family discussion" today, which was part of the process of deciding how to go about improving our efforts towards helping our boy become fit to live in America independently. It went well, thanks to much prayer and the fact that we really can communicate well if we go about it right! (((((My two guys))))) As in all discussions of this type, there were a few moments that were less than stellar, but we worked through them, and that was good.
I knew this already, but it was good to be reminded of it -- my son is very wise and very articulate, and he proved it in our little meeting. He was able to share with us some of his goals (and why they are important to him), as well as "things that annoy me" (quite legitimate, some of them!) and "things that I know I need to improve" and "things Mom and Dad can do to help me make progress." Very helpful and encouraging, all of it. :-D
Of course, we didn't actually have time left to do any driving practice today, and it was too hot anyway in a car with no AC, but we WILL work on that... Promise! ;-)
