My first ever drabble, in honor of a birthday

This is two days early, but I thought the one being honored would not mind if I posted this today. ;-)

In honor of the upcoming birthday on Friday of my_cocoon -- which is also MY birthday, I might add with absolutely no shame :-D -- I have written my first drabble ever. And since I could not possibly keep it to 100 words, I have made it a double drabble.

Also, since I can't ever write anything that does not have historical background and research involved, here is the setting for this particular drabble:

On June 20, 3018 -- according to Tolkien's Tale of Years -- Sauron attacked Osgiliath. Boromir spoke of that attack before the Council of Elrond, saying, "...in the days of June, sudden war came upon us out of Mordor..."

Oh, fiddle!

My journal has been changed, and now I have to remember how to fix it myself. It's one of those things that happens when the LJ folks try to fix things, I guess, and this time it happened to me. Hope I saved what I did somewhere so I can get my White Tower back! They say my customizations haven't been lost, I just have to choose them again, but I have to figure out how to do that! =:-0

Any suggestions, comforting pats, expressions of sympathy or reminders of what I had included in my journal setup will be greatly appreciated!!

I may have had trouble with my journal, but I see there are some new tidbits to explore here now. Have you noticed there is the addition of a picture gallery? I wonder how that works....? ;-) Think I'll go see if I can fill it with Boromir pictures.
