My BP is high, and I can tell. I feel just "off" enough that it is bothersome. I checked my own BP thingy against the one at Walmart and they agree = 148/95.
Now it could be worse, I know, but that's bad enough, especially when I am already taking medication for it. I'm sure it has much to do with what is going on in my life these days, and when that passes, I hope I will settle. If it is no better after the weekend, I'll go to the doctor.
Though the weekend will likely make it worse; it will be Grand Central Station at the guesthouse, starting tomorrow and going through the weekend.
To cope with the difficulty, I need to get more exercise, as that will reduce the stress as well as help with my BP in the long run; I'll try drinking more as well, and see if I can cut back on coffee. If anyone knows of anymore "tricks" that might help in the short term, let me know!
Does athelas tea have caffeine in it?

ideas?
limit to one cup of coffee a day - no more. and make that stick!
if you do things like salt the water before you boil your potatoes etc, quit doing it...either that or quit salting your food once its on the plate (my mom is really bad for that - double salts everything even before we get to taste it for ourselves.) Try using Sea Salt instead. Its rougher coarser texture, you use waaaay less too.
while you are sitting doing things (like paperwork) wiggle your feet, tap your toes etc. If you move even while stationary, it actually DOES burn up calories. (just ask my uncle who is a beanpole and cant keep any meat on his bones - he cannot sit still for more than 5 seconds without fidgiting.)
set an alarm or timer (watch is best) to go off every hour. when it goes off - spend 1 minute doing something else: stretching, deep breathing, toe touching, praying, standing or sitting up straight again, or drop and do 3 situps or 3 lady pushups.
::: in best viggo/masterchief voice::: 'drop and give me 5 lady! LOL.

I'm on two BP medications, and that just keeps my BP at the higher end of the normal limit, so I know what you are going through.
